Your Safety
We are very excited to welcome guests back to Carlton Old Hall from 4th July 2020.
Our aim has always been to provide a spotlessly clean, cosy, well equipped holiday home for guests to enjoy and have the most relaxing and comfortable holiday possible.
We will endeavour to continue to do this but we have had to now strictly follow HM Government advice and guidelines from PASC (Professional Association of Self Caterers) and the STAA (UK Short Term Accommodation Association) to ensure the house is kept at standards that ensure our guests and cleaners safety.
Adhering to the above guidelines has meant that we have had to make some changes. All changes are to ensure the house can be cleaned to the highest standards and that our guests feel confident they can have a holiday at Carlton Old Hall where care and attention has been made to make it as risk free as possible. Some of the changes we have made are:
Cleaning
We use a fantastic cleaning company who have a strict cleaning policy / checklist. A checklist can be found in the house and in the house information (a link will be provided once booked).
The cleaning guidelines have meant that additional measures have had to be implemented such as;
-
Disinfecting all hard surfaces that are likely to have regular contact such as door handles, light switches, bannisters, key safes, remote controls etc
-
Sanitisation spray of carpets prior to vacuuming
-
Steam cleaning/ spray with disinfectant of all upholstered seating.
-
Mattress protectors changed between guests
-
Pillows rotated between guests
Our cleaning team work in 'bubbles' to reduce risk of infection and wear full PPE. This will mean that preparing Carlton Old Hall for your arrival will take longer than usual so we are kindly asking our guests to help us with the following:
-
A later check in and earlier check out may be required for our cleaners to clean and prepare the house to the standards required by the guidelines mentioned above.
-
We will kindly ask you to strip the beds at the end of your stay and put the linen in bags provided.
-
Please put tea towels and dish cloths from the kitchen in the washing machine.
-
Please load the dishwasher with as much crockery, cutlery and glasses. This ensures that everything gets sanitised between guests.
-
Please place all rubbish from the kitchen, bathroom and wastepaper baskets in the blue bin outside by the log store.
Equipment
We have tried to provide everything you might need on a holiday which means we have quite a lot of cooking equipment etc.
We provide books, games and jigsaw puzzles and have some ornaments around that add to the cosiness of the house.
To reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19 to guests and our cleaners we have had to make some changes to ensure everyone’s safety.
-
We have left cooking utensils and equipment (e.g. saucepans, baking trays, casserole dishes etc) but these will NOT have been sanitised so you may want to wash them before use.
-
We have removed books, games, DVDs and puzzles so please bring your own.
-
We have several guest information books which we will rotate between guests but will also make it available online.
What to do if guests fall ill or show symptoms of Covid-19
Please follow the HM Government guidance for those staying in self catered accommodation who have symptoms of COVID-19. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/covid-19-advice-for-accommodation-providers
If a guest is displaying signs of the COVID-19 virus while staying in overnight accommodation for a permitted reason, they should inform the accommodation provider, immediately self-isolate where they are to minimise any risk of transmission, and request a test. If they are confirmed to have COVID-19, they should return home if they reasonably can. They should use private transport but only drive themselves if they can do so safely. If a guest cannot reasonably return home (for example because they are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), their circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority.
Guests should follow government guidance on dealing with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. Once the guest (and if appropriate their family) has finished the required self-isolation period and is no longer symptomatic, they should return to their main residence and continue to follow the government guidance on self-isolation, household isolation and social distancing.
Impact on the community
We politely ask you to be mindful of the impact of tourism on local communities and respect the local community around you.
Thank you for taking the time to read all this important information and we hope you have a wonderful holiday at Carlton Old Hall.
